Our first date

Seriously, I CANNOT be old enough to say that I have been with my husband for 20 YEARS, can I?  I remember an older lady I worked with saying that she had been with her husband longer than she was without him.  I thought she was old.  I'm there now.  I have been for 3 years.

October 10, 1992 was our first date.  I have no photos of it, but these were a couple of the oldest ones of us together I could find.  We went out on our first date one week after Homecoming.  I was a junior and Scott had just graduated.  We had a couple of friends (see below: Danny in white and Kim on right) who wanted us to go out with them, so what better way than to lie to your friends?  I was told Scott wanted to go out with me and he was told the same about me.  Neither of us had any interest in the other.  Until that night.  We dated for almost 6 years after that first date while I finished high school and we both graduated from college. I still look at him and am amazed HE is who God put me with.  I never would have thought I would have ended up with the skater boy who wore Cross Colors and had the bleached out eye hanger, but I am beyond happy I did!  I love you Scott!!!

Christmas Vacation

We left the day after Christmas for a little vacation...
Yep, we took the kids to the beach. We went to our favorite place in Gulf Shores, Alabama & had the most wonderful time.

We woke up at around 10 everyday, ate as much junk as we wanted, watched some movies, played with some new toys, shopped, swam....

Not a lot of anything, actually!

It was fabulous!!!!

Christmas Day!

Santa came!

Lyla's face when she first saw what Santa left. I love how she had Dora with her. This is how she holds her baby. Just like the way her momma holds Haddie :)

Caleb & Gavin were so excited to watch Lyla open her Dora Fairy that they gave her.
I have been working on these t-shirt quilts for months. I'll have to take a bigger, better picture. They are made from shirts of the boys that have become too small. The quilts are twin size and so soft!

Our family went to my dad's house Christmas night.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween weekend! We went as the Waldo family to a Halloween party on Saturday. On Sunday night we enjoyed fun times at our church Fall Festival. On Halloween we went trick or treating in our neighborhood with some friends. The kids had a blast. Lyla actually understood what to do and was so proud of herself every time she said "Trick or Treat" & "thank you." She seemed to always choose pink wrapped candy when given a choice and wanted to eat the lollipops :)

Corner Bakery Cafe is OPEN!

Finally, after months and months of planning and talking and building, IT IS DONE!!! YAY!!! Last weekend we did the Friends & Family and VIP events and the restaurant actually opened on Monday, October 24th.

The store looks wonderful and the food is even better! I love it!

My friend, Christie wanted to be the first one to order, so she was :) Things like this make her happy!

Another Field Day at the boys' school. They love these days. Above Caleb is with his friend Bryce. Scott and I were able to go for a little bit. It was so HOT. Everything is hot to me these days :-)

Bon Jovi Concert

Yes, we are terrible parents. We took our boys to see Bon Jovi Monday night. We actually gave them the tickets for Christmas and they have been looking forward to it for 3 months. They have been listening to my Bon Jovi cd since they were 4 and sadly they know every word. They LOVED seeing him perform, especially Gavin. Caleb slept through most of it. Don't ask me how! He said it never woke him up and it was soooo loud! Gavin sang the whole time. Poor thing fell asleep just before the very last song. The next day Gavin asked me why Bon Jovi did not sing Dead or Alive. He was so sad when he found out it was the encore and he missed it!
