Christmas Wrap-Up

Every year on Christmas Eve we make cookies for Santa. Caleb ate the dough and maybe cut out about 6 cookies while Gavin stuck with it and cut out as many as he could with all the dough we had.

We painted our own little nativity scene. They LOVE making things with me. I cannot tell you how many times they told me they loved me while we were painting... so sweet!

Our little elf, Criddle, from Elf on the Shelf came back this year. See the elf hiding in the tree? Anyway, he has been watching the boys and reporting back to Santa. Our boys were hoping Criddle was giving good reports. Well, on Christmas Eve Santa sent C & G a letter from the North Pole! They were so excited to see that they were on the Nice list and that Santa talked about our dog Lucy and some of their friends. He even sent them each a tiny ornament that twin elves had made especially for them.

Christmas Eve Gift

Our boys always get to open up one gift on Christmas Eve. This year - pajamas & house shoes.

I even got to open up one gift. Our sweet boys had each picked out an ornament and had it personalized for me.
Our newest tradition... a key on our back door for Santa. You know sometimes Santa gets tired of going down chimneys and just in case the fire is not out!

Sprinkling reindeer food on our lawn. We want to make sure Santa does not miss our house!
Leaving cookies & milk for Santa and of course, carrots for the reindeer.

Christmas Morning at our house.

You think these 2 boys are excited to see what Santa brought? Scott had gone to grab the video camera so we were waiting to walk in the living room together.

"Where do we start?"

Christmas at my parents' house....

chaos!

the gift Caleb & Gavin picked out for my dad. They love Monopoly & he loves the Beatles.

Happy Birthday Jesus with all of the grandkids.

Puppy Drama

Sunday night out puppy Lucy was hit by a car. I was not home. Scott & the boys were outside and Lucy decided to go across the street to the neighbors house when their son came out. Scott saw a car coming and told the boys to just be still & quiet. He thought she would stay there and then he was going to go get her. Well, she decided to dart back across the street just as the car came by. The lady said she never even saw the dog because she was watching the boys. Anyway, Scott said it looked bad and Gavin got upset. Scott sent the boys to the neighbor's house and he took Lucy to the Emergency Clinic. They kept her for 2 hours with an iv, but said after the shock wore off she seemed fine. She is just very bruised.

Here are the boys with Lucy after we brought her back home.

The next morning Scott & I woke up to blood everywhere. They had left Lucy's iv in and wrapped it up just in case we had to suddenly bring her back in. Lucy picked at the tape all night until she had it hanging out, so Scott & I got to take an iv out of a dog.... Well, actually Scott took it out. I would make a TERRIBLE nurse. I cannot stand to look at things like that! We are so glad Lucy is ok!

What are you?

You Are a Turtleneck Sweater

You are sophisticated, streetwise, and even a little cynical.

You are quite cultured, and you don't fall for gimmicks or trends easily.

You are naturally chic. You have a urban, cosmopolitan style.

And you know that the secret to looking good is not trying too hard!

What are you?

You Should Have a Blue Christmas Tree

For you, the holidays represent a time of calm, understanding, and peace.

You avoid family fights, and you don't get too stressed out - even when things are crazy!

You like to make Christmas about making everyone's life a little bit better.

You don't get caught up in greed or commercialism. You're too sincere for that.

Your blue tree would look great with: Lots of silver tinsel

You should spend Christmas Eve watching: It's a Wonderful Life

What you should bake for Santa: Chocolate chip cookies

Our Obsession

Does a family of 4 REALLY need 17 boxes of cereal?

Hot Woman???

I got my hair cut today while my boys were in school. When I picked them up they noticed and Gavin said it looked different. I kept talking and told them how I really wanted to get a little shorter. Gavin said "Yea, that would look good on a hot woman like you." "What do you think a hot woman is" I asked. "A woman who looks nice" he replied. Wow! When did 6 year old boys start calling girls hot? I don't think he realizes "hot woman" should NOT be associated with his mom, but I took it as a compliment anyway.

Appointment Yesterday

I had an appt. yesterday. Scott & I were so worried going to the doctor. I have been able to do so much more during this pregnancy compared to 7 years ago with my boys. It seems almost TOO easy. We went in and saw the little baby that has grown so much. We are so thankful we saw a healthy heartbeat and everything measured on time. I guess this is what a normal pregnancy with only 1 baby is like! I'm due June 4th. About 6 more months to go. I wish I knew how to scan a photo. I have many pictures of this baby, but I have no idea how to use my scanner :)

Decorating our Tree

We have lived in our house for almost 6 years now and we had to buy a new tree for the THIRD time in 6 years. Argh! For some reason each year our tree ends up at the restaurant... not sure how. The boys & I had to hunt for ANOTHER Christmas tree. We found a pretty one, but WOW! They are expensive. Anyway, we spent the day shopping in Dallas on Sunday and then came home to decorate. We were all tired, but we got it done!
