Another Field Trip

Gavin's class went to Camp Tyler today. I had never been and was very impressed. Here he is getting on the school bus.....

They were shown many animals that they were able to pet and feed. Of all the animals this baby duck was G's favorite. He has talked about the "little cutie" all night.

Other animals they saw - chickens, pigs, horses, goats, hens, rabbits, cows, and donkeys...

After seeing the animals we went over to learn how to farm. Here is G pulling up weeds. He was pretty good at it!

After planting something they went over to pull up onions....

After pulling the onions, they skinned and gathered them to take to Brookshires.

At Brookshires the class "sold" the onions for $22 along with an apple for each student. The students then used the money to buy fruit. Brookshires took the class around the store and showed them the coffee/smoothie bar (where they sampled a smoothie, a live lobster (they got to pet), the flower department (where they were each given a flower), the bakery (where they made a cookie), the deli (where they were given a chicken strip and potato log), and the meat department where they were shown how to package meat. We could not believe how generous Brookshires was! Below Gavin is listening to the lady at the bakery... yes, he is ALWAYS this serious.... he was even this way as a baby! :)

Finally, the day was almost over. The kids were waiting for the bus and here they are again..... Gavin's little friend Kenzie trying to get Gavin to smile for me. Never did get a smile out of him (atleast not in the photo), but he told me tonight that she almost got him to smile.....

What a day! Kenzie's look says it all!

Confessions

Confessions for today:

(1) I actually enjoyed myself at Jazzercise today. Working out is NOT my favorite thing to do and a lot of times I get dressed to go and never leave my house. I have to admit once I am there I have lots of fun dancing.

(2) I did not get my shower until about 2:00.... wait that happens everyday AND I never did get make-up on today.

(3) Gavin brought home some kind of fuzzy worm from school (it was his night to keep the class pet or something). I hate bugs, so I must confess that I put it up so that he would forget about it and I would not have worry about it getting loose in our house OR being squished by 2 six year old boys.

(4) I STILL have not mailed out a couple of packages that have been sitting around for weeks. Why do I have such a problem with looking up an address and sticking the stamps on?

(5) I still have the same clothes in my dryer from this morning. Every time I pass by the laundry room I hit "touch up" and forget about them. I think they have been touched up about 4 times today.....

Maybe I will get something done tomorrow between going on another kindergarten field trip and celebrating my Dad's birthday with the family tomorrow night....... unlikely, but a girl can hope......

Happy Belated Birthday Noah

Sunday we celebrated Noah's 7th birthday which was actually in March .... over 1 month ago. His parents are always like this, either their kids parties are late or it just never happens. Noah is lucky he got this party. I'm not sure we ever celebrated his 1st :) Ashlee, I love you if you are reading this. I found out about Noah's party on Saturday (the day before the big event). Then I forgot to tell Scott. I had a stamp class and my mom called to ask where we were. Anyway, we all showed up late so our kids were upset they did not get to skate for the 2 hours planned. It was all ok with us.... they could barely stand up on their own. Below is the birthday boy, Gavin with Sage, and Caleb with my Dad and Scott.

Monday

We got out today and enjoyed the nice spring weather. Ashlee and I took the kids to the park. Skylar showed us his "skillz" on his skateboard, we all took a walk in the woods, Isabella chased butterflies, Caleb spun himself dizzy, and Gavin and Noah challenged each other in every way they could think of. We all came home tired and filthy!
Skylar, Noah, Gavin, Caleb & Belle

I love those blue eyes!

It was such a pretty day that C & G stayed outside until bath time.... drawing flowers for me on our back porch. We did have tears and whining when it started getting dark, but boy did they go to sleep fast tonight!

What little boy legs are meant to look like.....

Caleb is so proud of his skinned up knees now that they are not bleeding AND now that he knows he will not "lose his skin forever." He thinks the cutest little things!

Wild Me vs. Conservative Me

Back in November we went to NYC and I designed the Nikes shown below. I like them, but they are a little wild. When we went back to NikeTown last month I wanted to make sure I designed shoes I would actually wear.

Here are my new ones. Aren't they cute? Notice how they say "Stamp Up." The other shoe says "NYC 2008." I wanted to make sure I remembered what trip I was on. We went to New York before leaving for the Stampin Up! Bermuda incentive trip. So much fun!

Field Trip to the Zoo

Today the kids and I spent the whole day at the zoo on a field trip with their school.

Gavin decorated both sacks with this little guy. Who taught him to draw this cute thing?

Watching the penguins.....

Gavin and his little "friend." When the teacher told them to hold hands with a partner. She made her way straight to Gavin. So sweet.....

Caleb's First Words

This morning as I was carrying Caleb into the kitchen (yes, I still carry him unless I serve him breakfast in bed.... so spoiled). Anyway, the first words out of his mouth as he was waking up..... "Momma, what do you think about a mouse?" "Eew!" I said " I don't like them." "Well, I love mice, so if you do not like a mouse then you don't like me" he told me. Could he be anymore dramatic?

Gavin's friend

Today Gavin had a friend over after school. It just so happened that a little friend from Caleb's class invited him over on the same day. Caleb & Gavin have learned a lot this year about friends and it has not always been easy having different friends and both boys not being invited for play dates, birthday parties, etc. However, they love being in different classes and knowing different people. Hopefully this will be helpful later in life.....

Thursday

Funny thoughts from Caleb:

1.) Caleb told me today that Alvin always says mean things to people on American Idol. I have not been watching Idol, but I'm pretty sure there is no one named Alvin....... I wonder what Simon Cowell would say if he knew he was being called Alvin AND being confused with a chipmunk?

2.) Our daily walks are taken on the golf course in our neighborhood. Caleb has brought it to my attention that the the people who live in the houses we walk by are rich. Yesterday I asked him what made him think these people are rich. He said because they have things like basketball goals and dogs in their backyards.... So, for all you wanting to be "rich" just install a b-ball goal and adopt a puppy and you will have it made!

New Routine

Well, I guess we have started a new routine. The first thing I heard after picking the boys up from school was, "Can we go for a walk?" So off we went. This time we knew to bring water bottles.

I ended up carrying scooters back home so I asked Caleb to carry my phone. This is the photo I found when uploading. :)

Tuesday

After picking the boys up from school we went for a walk (or scooter ride for Gavin) around the neighborhood. Caleb rolled down every hill he could find....

Bon Jovi Concert

Yes, we are terrible parents. We took our boys to see Bon Jovi Monday night. We actually gave them the tickets for Christmas and they have been looking forward to it for 3 months. They have been listening to my Bon Jovi cd since they were 4 and sadly they know every word. They LOVED seeing him perform, especially Gavin. Caleb slept through most of it. Don't ask me how! He said it never woke him up and it was soooo loud! Gavin sang the whole time. Poor thing fell asleep just before the very last song. The next day Gavin asked me why Bon Jovi did not sing Dead or Alive. He was so sad when he found out it was the encore and he missed it!
